FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

Everything you need to know before getting started.

How long does a website project take?

The standard process takes 6 weeks from discovery to launch. Projects with several integrations or many pages can take 8 to 10 weeks. I always give a detailed estimate after the first conversation.

Who will I be working with?

With me. Velocity Forge is a one-person studio: the person you talk to is the person who designs, builds and supports your project. No account managers, no middlemen.

Why not use WordPress?

WordPress is a valid solution in many cases. For businesses that need real performance, full code control, top technical SEO and no dependency on third-party plugins, Next.js is better. I do not force a stack — I recommend what makes sense for each project.

What technologies do you use?

Mainly Next.js, TypeScript and Supabase (PostgreSQL). Simpler landing pages use the same base with reduced scope. I never use page builders or tools that limit performance.

Do you work with businesses outside Évora?

Yes. I work remotely with businesses across Portugal and abroad, with weekly video calls. In the Alentejo, meetings can be in person when it makes sense.

How much does it cost?

Websites with bookings for local businesses from €1,200. Landing pages from €1,200. Custom multi-page websites from €3,500. Custom CRM from €5,000. AI assistants have a setup fee plus a monthly plan. I always reply with a detailed quote — no surprises.

Do you do white-label work for other agencies?

Yes. I work white-label for agencies that need extra technical capacity, delivering under the partner agency's brand. Get in touch to discuss terms.

What happens after launch?

Two options: a monthly plan for maintenance, new features and optimisation — or a full handoff with complete documentation so you can manage it in-house. Your choice. No site is delivered without basic content training.

What does the process look like?

Four stages: Discovery (week 1) — goals, content, briefing. Design & Build (weeks 2–5) — in parallel, with weekly reviews. Launch (week 6) — SEO, performance, accessibility. Support — monthly plan or handoff. Everything documented, nothing hidden.

Do I own the design after delivery?

Yes. Once the project is complete, the design and code are yours. I keep the right to show the work in my portfolio (unless agreed otherwise), but everything I build for you is yours — no recurring licences.

Do you handle hosting and the domain?

I set up hosting and can manage the domain if you prefer. I use Vercel (the best fit for Next.js) and recommend trusted registrars. Hosting stays in your account — I am never the only point of access to your digital assets.
